"My visit to Mister James was more than I could have hoped for. The service was excellent. The people themselves were lovely and the location was easy to access. The food was wonderful. The biscuit and gravy with sauce was 10/10. Can't recommend this location enough!"

"This place is awesome! I have been living in Cedar Hill for 8 years, and this was my first time here. I had the pecan French toast and scrambled eggs with sausage biscuits and gravy. The French toast was delicious! I love biscuits and gravy, so it tasted really good to me. My friend ordered a short stack with an omelet. He said the omelet was really good. He drove from Arlington to try this place out. Also, I really like the atmosphere of this place. It's very warm, like being with family at home, and I also love the scriptures on the wall. Shay was our waitress. She was very friendly and outgoing, and she was also very knowledgeable about the menu. We had to wait about 10-15 minutes for our food, but it was worth the wait. Overall, I give this place a 10 out of 10."

"This was my and my son's first time trying this mom and pop stop. It is a no frills environment but the people were super nice and the food was like you made it at home " if you can cook that is" The chicken was seasoned to perfection and the waffles were fluffy and crispy. We also tried cheese grits and smothered and covered hash browns. I will say you have to request cheddar cheese or you get american. Not my favorite but they were so nice they offered to remake it with cheddar but with the cost of food I didn't want to waste and it still tasted great. I appreciate a blk owned business with great customer service like this one! They even gave us a piece of nothin Bundt cake to go complimentary. We would definitely go back! Disclaimer: they do tell you up front there is up to a 45 to 55 minute wait from the time you order. But after reading other reviews I was prepared to wait, and IT WAS WORTH IT. Everything was hot and fresh. May God continue to bless this establishment, the people that own it and the people that work there. I recommend!"

"I've been trying to get here for a while now & mannnnnn am I glad I did. First off, the CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS AMAZING!!!! Greeted when walking in, greeted when seated, and asked what we were having to drink. I had questions about the menu & they were patient and very friendly about answering my questions. Now on to the chicken and waffles, those wings were AMAZING!!! I wanted 3 more! . The waffle was crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The pancakes were fluffy. They even ask how you want your bacon cooked. I can't wait to go back. They definitely made me feel like family. Great job! Keep up the great work!!!!"

"Very flavorful. Chicken was crispy. Everything was seasoned well. I loved the family aspect. They treated us like family and the food tasted like family cooking. There was a wait to be seated and was a long wait for the food but the hostess did let us know beforehand so we were cool with that. The pancakes were big and the catfish was seasoned very well. We enjoyed the waffles and the sausage was the best"

"This was a great a great family like experience. Shay and Candace made this breakfast very lovable. My mom had a really good rapport with Shay. She told us the history of the restaurant which made me feel right at home like Mister James was my grandpa. I honestly would give this place 4.5 just because of the wait. To their defense the wait is because every plate is made fresh and from scratch. You don't go to a lot of places that do that Mister James does it to perfection. I didn't take pictures of the food because it was already great pics of food posted. So i just took pics of restaurant. The atmosphere was great with music and family like friendliness. The prices . Perfect!"
